We strive to teach our kids that excellence has many faces and is reachable to anyone willing to put fourth an effort. As a Youth Program, our mission is to educate, motivate, and nurture young talent in the ways of entrepreneurship. Our goal is to give at-risk youth a chance to explore and learn entrepreneurial skills that will set fourth a path of financial independence in the coming years. To fulfill our mission, we commit to: Create a safe space where students and parents can come to gain assistance and training that will allow community growth and self motivated opportunities. Provide comprehensive yet rigorous training opportunities for beginners through hands on experience that will allow students to move to the next stages in their entrepreneurial training and artistic development. Building a positive learning community that emphasizes empathy and tolerance for one’s self and others. All while learning how to operate a business from start to finish. Fostering mental and emotional health through growth mindset, open communication, willingness to fail, respect for personal boundaries, fear and stress management, confidence and humility, and an ability to set and achieve goals. Partnering with parents, students, and the community to help students grow and develop over time with a view towards longevity and sustainability. Collaborating as an ensemble that spans ages, abilities, and disciplines with a mentoring system between students and staff as well as students with one another. Stage 1 Acquire commercial location to establish a home base for the organization. Acquire a 12-passenger van for transportation of students who do not have reliable transportation to and from school related events. As well as transportation for youth program sponsored field trips. Acquire technology based equipment such as computers, large format printers etc. for students to utilize for training. Acquire furniture needed to effectively utilize space for student stress management lounge. Stage 2 Renovate space to add indoor court and workout facility for students interested in sports training. Add dance studio flooring and mirrors in dance area. Add isolation booth for studio recording. The end goal for Tru Star Academy, is to create a Performing Arts Academy that will allow at-risk youth to create independent opportunities for themselves as well as their families. We are dedicated to producing the next great entrepreneurs that will create something special that could potentially change the world. The world has become accustomed to overlooking those at risk and living below or right at the poverty line. We believe that it is vital to bring light to those communities that seem to be forgotten or allowed to fall by the wayside. Providing trades for students is not only indispensable to the growth of the community, but for the growth of America.
