Come discover the magic of Nomad Middle School at our admissions open house and school tour. At Nomad, the world is our classroom. We can't wait to share it with you! Founded in 2016, Nomad, a progressive school in the Mission, serves a diverse and inspiring group of 5th-8th grade future innovators, change-makers, and entrepreneurs. Nomad is an experiential, inquiry- and project-based program with an emphasis on in-the-real-world applied learning and a fierce commitment to racial, social, and environmental justice. At our open house, we'll share a presentation about our unique educational model, share a tour of our school space, and give you a chance to ask questions of our staff and current students and their parents. Family members and friends of all ages are welcome to attend. Nomad is a mobile, community-focused school where students drive their own learning using the resources of cities in which they live. Students work with community members and experts, engage in local issues, and explore the spaces of the Bay Area. Our converted school bus classroom is our mobile learning lab. The Depot, our home base, maker lab, and community hub. Nomad's curriculum is centered around meaningful, inquiry-based experiences curated to provide a cross-curricular academic program in a project-based environment.  At Nomad, we prioritize knowing our students and their families deeply, working with real experts and tools, supporting the individual academic development of each child, taking weekly field trips, and saying yes to as many ideas as possible.
