Book of Kills Wants To Be A Real Band Again!

Description

I've been making music for many years, primarily as the leader of various line-ups known as Jim Shelley & Book of Kills. My influences are many. I love the Dead, the Beatles, CCR, Jefferson Airplane, Dylan, Neil Young, '60s garage rock,'70s and '80s punk, '80s and '90s electronic stuff, the Replacements, Joy Division, Husker Du, the Pixies, the Cure, and Nirvana. I throw all those vintage influences together to come up with my own stuff. And I've written a LOT of stuff! Though I primarily need a drummer, I'd love to hear from anyone who's interested regardless of what you play. Young or old. Male or female. I'm able to travel if that's something the post-Covid 19 future brings. I have a sound system if one's needed. I have two different practice spaces. I know there aren't a lot of places for original rock bands in the Valley anymore. But I want to give it one last shot. (I'm not interested in playing southern rock. I like it; I just don't play it. And I”m not interested in being part of a cover band.) Check out Jim Shelley & Book of Kills for hundreds of examples of what I've done musically over the years. If you like rock music from pop to garage to folk to psychedelic to harder stuff to noise, shoot me an email. "Comparisons are an insult. The man is an original. One of America's great 'unknown' songsmiths." -- Jim Santo (ALTERNATIVE PRESS)
