A Conversation with Isabel Wilkerson, author of Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents AFPLF is proud to announce its inaugural one book, one read program in partnership with Fulton Library System and Auburn Avenue Research Library. One Book, One Read promotes critical conversations, community building, and literacy across Fulton County! The culminating book club event will be a free lecture by the esteemed author of 'Caste', Isabel Wilkerson. This event is free and open to the public. About AFPLF: The Atlanta-Fulton Public Library Foundation's mission is to work in partnership with the Fulton County Library System to secure the System's future as an indispensable community resource through advocacy, raising public awareness and generating private funding. Anchoring the west end of the Sweet Auburn historic district, the Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History opened May 1994 in Atlanta. A special library of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System (AFPLS), it is the first public library in the Southeast to offer specialized reference and archival collections dedicated to the study and research of African American culture and history and of other peoples of African descent.
