Black Tom cat/Rehoming fee
Adult black tom cat in need of a permanent home. We thought he was a feral because he wouldn't let anyone near him, but he was also usually fighting with one of our cats when we spotted him. He was obviously hunting for himself (and stealing cat food any chance he got). We were finally able to trap him (where he tried his best to escape and rubbed half the hair off his face) discovered he is very tame. Guess he was dumped or abandoned. Seems to be doing fine inside - no issues with his litterbox (in a small contained area). Great appetite. Not getting into anything.
I think he would be happiest outside at least some of the time. I am hoping we can find someone with a big yard, or some land with a nice barn who would care for him in exchange for his superior hunting skills. He loved hiding under our barn and doubtful that a mouse/snake could escape his watchful eye. If he is fed regularly, he seems happy enough to stay put - but very polite and never underfoot. He likes to talk and be around people - would be a great companion. No signs of spraying, but early days. Thankfully. Possible that he will not take to other toms - he did not get on with ours.
I have had him fully vetted - he passed his exam, is now fixed (will hopefully help w the fighting) and had all his shots (I will provide the papers/tag) and he's being treated for his scratches and that oh so attractive bald spot. He will not go with anyone that doesn't seem suitable. The rehoming fee is just to be sure he gets to the right situation. We will donate it to SNIPPET low cost spay/neuter in Tyler.
