LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — COVID-19 boosters are now available for many teens in Loudoun County. As the county has high levels of community transmission, public health officials are urging eligible residents to get their booster shot. Booster shots area available at the Loudoun County Health Department's Dulles Town Center clinic. The booster shot was authorized for 16-year-olds and 17-year-olds during recently released guidance and authorization from the Food and Drug Administration. "Loudoun County, as well as our whole region, is now at the highest level of COVID-19 transmission," said Loudoun County Health Director Dr. David Goodfriend. "Getting initial COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters when eligible, along with indoor mask usage and other mitigation steps, will be critical to staying safe during this winter surge." Residents are eligible for booster doses if they finished their initial series of the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines at least six months ago. Those who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are eligible two months after their first shot. Appointments at the county's Dulles Town Center clinic can be scheduled online. Those without internet access can receive assistance from the county's helpline at 703-737-8300. COVID-19 vaccines are also available from several healthcare providers and pharmacies like Walgreens, CVS, and Wegmans.
