Here are the top stories today in Salt Lake City: Fatal shooting at an SLC gas station has left one person dead with the suspect still at large. The altercation resulting in gunfire happened at 1:00 AM Friday morning at a Maverick gas station in SLC's East Central neighborhood. Police believe it to be an isolated incident and are looking for the suspect. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 801-799-3000 and reference case number 21-226389. (KJZZ)The nonprofit known as Voices for Utah Children released a scathing budgetary report showing Utah children 'drowning in unmet needs.' Matthew Weinstein, the state priorities partnership director at the organization stated that annual tax cuts have eaten into future investments, identifying more than $5 billion in unmet needs for children in Utah.
