Semi-private space comprising the bottom half of an office/studio loft on Lowell St. in North Oakland warehouse district bordering Emeryville. Approx. 200 square feet, tall ceilings, lots of outlets, work lighting, skylight, alarm system, sprinklers. The building is zoned for light industrial/manufacturing. Rent is $575 plus $55 utilities including high speed fiber internet. This would be a great art, jewelry, or conservation studio, and could work well for an internet-based retail company as there are regular UPS pickups at the building, and a mail area to stage your outgoing packages. You would share with just me, a glass artist and conservator, set up in the upper area of the loft. My work is not overall loud, but does involve the occasional use of power and hand tools, so someone requiring total quiet may not be the best fit. While there are lots of makers and artists in the building, the building does not allow woodworking-based businesses due to noise and dust.
