HILLSBORO, OR —The pilot of a small aircraft was not seriously hurt Thursday afternoon when his plane made a crash landing in a field north of Hillsboro's Twin Oaks Airpark, according to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue. The Oregonian reported that at about 3:50 p.m., aircraft controllers from Twin Oaks alerted TVF&R that a plane had gone down just north of the landing strip near Southwest River Road in the Farmington area south of Hillsboro. TVF&R crews rushed to the scene and said the single occupant of the plane, whose name was not provided, was "doing well" after being checked out by paramedics. The agency said no fire danger was present. Aircraft incident update: The aircraft landed in a field north of the airpark. TVF&R was conducting its own investigation into the cause of crash, Myers told The Oregonian. He said the agency would determine if the incident required an investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration. The Washington County Sheriff's Office also assisted at the scene of the crash.
