UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH — Investigators are again asking the public for help solving the killing of Antonio Johnson. Johnson, 19, from Euclid, was shot multiple times on Nov. 24. On Thursday, University Heights police again implored the public for tips on the killing. On Nov. 24, 911 callers reported hearing gunshots before a car crash on Scholl Road. A vehicle had smashed into another car before coming to a stop, police said. When officers arrived, they found Johnson inside one of the crashed cars. He had been shot multiple times in the chest, police discovered. The University Heights Rescue Squad rushed Johnson to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries. A witness reported seeing two men running from the scene of the car accident, police said. They appeared to be teenagers and both were wearing dark, hooded sweatshirts, according to the description given to investigators. A Cleveland Heights K9 unit was brought in to search the area, but no suspects were found. Police believe Johnson's killing was an act of targeted violence, meaning he knew his attackers prior to being shot. The Ohio Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI) is leading the investigation into Johnson's killing. On Thursday afternoon, University Heights police again asked the public for help in solving Johnson's killing. Anyone with information about the killing should contact the University Heights Police Detective Bureau at 216-932-8799. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that may lead to the arrest and conviction of suspects in this case. Tipsters can call 216-25CRIME and remain anonymous.
