Press release from the City of White Plains:
December 10, 2021
In 1969 our country was divided over the Vietnam War and still reeling from the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert Kennedy the year before. That summer, two unbelievable things happened: a man landed on the moon and the perennially hopeless Mets suddenly had the chance to win the World Series. Mr. Shamsky will be sharing stories of life on and off the baseball field and the importance of feeling connected in these challenging times.
Grandpas United will also present updates on ongoing and new intergenerational programs supporting White Plains youth.
This free monthly speaker series is hosted by Grandpas United, an inter-generational initiative of the White Plains Youth Bureau. To register and receive the Zoom link or for more information, please email [email protected].
