Description
Leela needs to be adopted right away. She is the sweetest dog but she is an escape artist. Since they got her, over a year ago, she has been escaping from my parents' yard. When she was a puppy, she sometimes managed to wiggle under their 4 foot high fence, despite many efforts to reinforce the places where she was getting out. She recently realized that she is now able to go over the fence and now she refuses to stay in the backyard. They have a large property and replacing the fence is not feasible.
She now likes to hang out in the street and does not get out of the way for cars. One of these days she is going to be hit by a car unless she is rehomed.
Leela is fixed, loves to dive, swim and fetch (all of which is pretty darn impressive) and she has had all of her shots. One of her eyes is half silver and half brown. As you can see, she has a great smile. She is very social, with both humans and animals and is not aggressive.
She needs an owner who can properly train her and should not go to someone frail or with small dogs or children. She is stubborn about getting back inside the gate and my elderly dad injured himself trying to corral her and my 16 pound dachshund injured his shoulder while they were horseplaying. My mom said I shouldn't put that in my ad but I care for Leela and she needs a forever home. I want anyone who is interested to take her large size into consideration. I don't know how much she weighs offhand but she is probably 3 feet tall on all fours and between 4 and 5 feet tall on her hind legs.
To ensure that her new owner is willing to make a commitment to her, I am asking a $100 rehoming fee.
