Recliner Fix

I have a cheap but comfortable recliner purchased on Amazon about 2 years ago. The wood above the metal brace broke on both sides so now the back part of the chair provides no support. I have separated the back part from the chair. I am looking for someone who knows how to fix the wood (replace, repair, brace, whatever) so I can use the chair again. I am willing to bring the back to you and pick it up when done. My budget is $30.00. The pictures provided here show the chair together, but I have removed the top part so I can bring it somewhere to be repaired.
