Oregon & Southwest WA caterers are invited to create cultural food inspired by the African Diaspora to serve up for Sunday Brunch. Compete for bragging rights preparing and serving up cultural food that will connect our guests to Umoja/Unity celebrated the first day of KWANZAA. The Sunday Brunch Cultural Catering Competition will spotlight cultural caterers in Portland, Oregon and surrounding area that infuse the traditions and customs of the African Diaspora. Caterers will follow the competition guidelines to submit a customized menu and purchase order/invoice. Basic Sunday Brunch Cultural Catering Competition Guideline:TAPAS STYLE SERVING (Small plates)Each competition station will have at least one of each options available to accommodate the total number of guests:A. VEGETABLE/VEGETARIAN OPTION (including broth/seasoning) B. STARCH/VEGETARIAN OPTION (including broth/seasoning)C. RED MEAT OPTION D. POULTRY/SEAFOOD OPTIONE. CHEF'S SPECIAL - Optional (must share health information like Veg, or Gluten Free, Sugar-Free, Dairy or Soy Free, etc.First Year Application Fee: $25 (waived for first three caterers committed) Oregon and Washington food service license requested. Only three catering teams (with teams up to 3 people total per station). Each caterer will earn spot to compete in 2021 Kwanzaa Ken-Tu Fest due to safety concerns. Priority given based on application deadline submitted.
