For ages 12 and up. Learn about native wild medicinal mushrooms and how you can forage them, plus prepare your own jar of Mushroom Tincture during this info-packed workshop and lecture! While we learn identification, preparation and medicinal qualities of these mushrooms with an interactive lecture and presentation, we will be brewing and sipping native Reishi tea and learning how to make tincture and tonic from medicinal mushrooms which can help modulate our immune systems against viruses, disease and auto-immune-related conditions. We will then prepare our own Mushroom Tincture with native wild mushrooms that each of you can take home, along with written instructions and mushroom info. sheets.
My wild-foraged Elderberry Syrup, tinctures, Wild Herbal Salve for Poison Ivy and Eczema, Wildflower Jelly and other wild-crafted edibles and medicinals will be available for purchase before and after class.
Rachel Goclawski, Forager and Massachusetts Certified Educator, state-certified in Mushrooming, is a Programming Partner with the Museum of Natural History, Girl Scouts of Eastern MA, Sudbury Valley Trustees and Waters Farm Preservation. Rachel comes from a long line of foragers, including her great-grandfather, Dr. Arthur W. Fairbanks, founder of the Boston Mycological Club in the 1800's. Rachel is a Contributing Writer for “Now, Forager” in The Cook’s Cook Magazine, and has been featured in The Boston Globe, Bay State Parents Magazine, Worcester Telegram and Gazette, Millbury-Sutton Chronicle, Television Documentaries, and other media/print.
