Join us as Professor Sharon Pajka discusses some of these amazing women included in her newly released book, "Women Writers Buried in Virginia". These writers include a Pulitzer Prize winner, the first woman writer to be named poet laureate of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the first woman to top the bestsellers lists in the twentieth century. Hanover Tavern Foundation (www.hanovertavern.org) is a non-profit organization which owns and operates the Historic 18th century Hanover Tavern in Hanover County.  Listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places, Hanover Tavern is a focal point of the Hanover Courthouse Historic District. The Foundation mission statement is to preserve, interpret, and utilize Hanover Tavern as an historical, educational, community and cultural resource center for the enjoyment of all.  We have saved and restored a nationally significant historic structure and returned it to the central Virginia community as a cultural site offering educational student field trips and in-classroom programs, exhibits, historical tours, musical and theatrical performances, and family-oriented special events.  The Tavern offers a full service restaurant and pub, providing lunch and dinner and is also the Hanover home of Virginia Repertory Theatre which performs in our 150 seat Bradley Theater.  Hanover Tavern hosts business meetings, weddings, receptions, private parties, and events within the historic building as well as the new E.
