San Luis Obispo County high school seniors are invited to come onto Cuesta College’s San Luis Obispo Campus and get a taste of college life San Luis Obispo County high school seniors are invited to come onto Cuesta College’s San Luis Obispo Campus and get a taste of college life during the college’s 7th Annual Promise Day, set for Friday, February 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to learn about Cuesta College's academic programs from faculty, talk with admissions and financial aid representatives and discuss campus life with current students. Information will also be provided on scholarships, including the Promise Scholarship which guarantees two fee-free full years of college to all recently graduated high school students. Academic program presentations, workshops, lunch, campus tours, and giveaways will be included. The 2019-20 Cuesta Promise Scholarship application opens October 1, 2019. The Cuesta Promise is the result of a private donation of more than $8 million to the Cuesta College Foundation from the Charles and Leeta Dovica Family Trust, who requested the funds be used for scholarships. The scholarship endowment, created in the fall of 2013, currently saves students an average of $1,400 in their first year at Cuesta College. All atteendess must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test within 72 hours of the event.
