Description

A celebration benefiting the Mediation Center's 35 years of providing conflict prevention and resolution programs. Join us to celebrate those in our community and our volunteers who helped us serve over 6300 community members in 2021. We've created safe, trusted spaces for those in conflict to be brave and resolve community conflict, court-ordered cases, youth disagreements, and workplace issues. With the ongoing pandemic and deepening divisions, we have an unprecedented need in our community to facilitate dialogue, build understanding, and minimize conflict between community members, co-parents, and youth. Now is the time to support our community and build skills to communicate peacefully and have a conversation when in conflict. The Mediation Center continues to bring conflict prevention and resolution innovation, and we need local support to help fund these vital programs. Help us transform lives one conversation at a time. Corporate Sponsor Hunter Maclean A Friend of the Center Pedigo Law Firm Oliver Maner South State Bank The Mediation Center was founded in 1986 to increase access to justice for citizens of the Coastal Empire by providing cost-effective alternatives to litigation. In the 35 years since the Center began operating, its programs have expanded to serve over 5,000 local citizens on an annual basis, and its physical footprint has grown larger in order to serve the increased alternative dispute resolution needs of the population. The Center is a designated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and it relies on volunteers, grant funding, and donations to sustain its operations. The annual Velvet Gala serves as the Center’s primary source of private funding each fiscal year. The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire provides and promotes mediation and other alternatives to litigation; these services are confidential, inexpensive, prompt and readily accessible to everyone. We maintain a trained, qualified and competent staff to provide education, training, outreach and programs to proactively manage conflict for individuals and in environments such as schools, organizations, and businesses.
