Bring family and friends and come aboard historic aircraft carrier USS Hornet for a holiday tea service in the Officers' Wardroom! The Hornet Museum is bringing back their Officer's Holiday Tea services in time for the holiday season and perfect teatime weather! The service will be held in the historic aircraft carrier's original Officers' Wardroom, making use of real US Navy china! All proceeds from our event go to the continued care of the Museum's exhibits and artifacts! Tickets to the Tea Service include General Admission to the Museum. Museum Maps will be available in the Wardroom so you can tour our museum, which is open from 10AM - 5PM. You can arrive at any time before your tea service starts--simply show Admissions proof of event purchase and you will be allowed aboard. We are asking all attendees to gather by the Admissions Desk approximately 5 minutes before their service begins. We are taking COVID-safety precautions including a requirement that all attendees must be vaccinated (your servers will be as well!). All parties will be seated at separate tables--the tables comfortably seat six so we recommend parties of three to six people! Please Note: The Wardroom where the event is hosted is down one deck from the main level of the Museum, and participants will need to use a steep stairwell and step over 8" combings. Our set menu options are as follows: Tea Sandwiches Cucumber and Cream Cheese Pear Chutney and Cheddar Cheese Turkey, Cranberry, and Cream Cheese Savories Seasonal Salad Mini Pork Sausage Roll (Meatless Alternative Available) Mini Broccoli and Cheddar Cheese Quiche Sweets Milk and Cookies Macaron Gingerbread Cake Chocolate Orange Mousse We are also thrilled to be sponsored by Lady Gray Kitchen and their tea this year! Our tea and drink options will include: Captain's Choice: Caffeinated. Earl Gray, a medium-bodied black tea with fruity, citrus bergamot.California Sunshine: Decaf. A green rooibos base with a citrus overtone from lemongrass and orange peel, and a hint of ginger root zing. Gingerbread Chai: Caffeinated. A chai base is blended with smooth vanilla black tea, cloves, allspice, and a little orange peel.Winter Wonderland: Decaf. A vanilla rooibos tea with peppermint and a hint of rosemary .Linhardt's Blend: Decaf.
