USGBC West Michigan is starting 2022 by celebrating our members and recognizing outstanding local green building projects The U.S. Green Building Council of West Michigan invites you to join us at our annual party and celebration of the 2021 leadership awardees, chapter members, community members, and everyone who strives for a vibrant, healthy, and sustainable community. Enjoy a night of merriment, storytelling, and networking with friends old and new. The event will take place on January 13, 2021, from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm at McKay Ballroom in Downtown Grand Rapids featuring a buffet dinner and open bar. View Event Webpage Keynote Address: Decarbonizing our Future: creating community vibrancy through carbon goals in the built environment At the event, Erin McDade, Assoc. AIA., Senior Program Director for Architecture 2030, will lead a discussion on the importance of and timing necessary to decarbonize our buildings that ensures the best possible economic and community health outcomes. Architecture 2030’s key strength is its grounding in and connection to the building industry. They provide cutting-edge thought leadership as we align the architectural, planning, and building community and political leaders around the urgency of achieving zero emissions by 2040. Leadership Awards The USGBC-WM Leadership Awards promote outstanding green buildings, programs, and efforts by recognizing projects, organizations, and people who have made extraordinary contributions to achieving healthy, high-performing green buildings across the state of Michigan. Hear from the 2021 awardees as they share their perspectives on the design, construction, and operation of the most outstanding buildings and projects of the year.
