Former Teacher Charged With Inappropriately Touching A Student

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A former seventh grade teacher at A.G. Wright Middle School in Stafford County has been arrested after he was accused of inappropraitely touching a student, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office announced on Thursday. A former student accused Gent of inappropriately touching her in 2016. A parent contacted the sheriff's office in October to report the sexual assault. The victim had recently disclosed the inappropriate touching to her parent, police said. A Stafford County detective was then assigned to the case. The detective determined that all of the incidents occurred whil the victim was one of Gent's students in 2016. After the investigation, Gent, a 40-year-old man from Fredericksburg, was subesequently arrested. He is charged with aggravated sexual battery and indecent liberties with a child.
