Press release from the Baltimore County Police Department: December 09, 2021 Baltimore County Police Officers will be wearing a memorial ribbon bar on their uniform or a mourning band on their badge today in memory of a fallen hero. On December 9, 1969, Officer Edward Kuznar died as a result of a traffic accident. While on traffic patrol near Kingsville, Officer Kuznar was hit head on by a driver who crossed the center line and crashed into his police car. Both the officer and the driver of the other vehicle were killed. Officer Edward Kuznar's name, along with the names of other fallen heroes, is inscribed on a monument at Patriot Plaza in Towson.
