Weekend forecast: Record heat will prevail on Friday ahead of a cold front that is expected to arrive Friday night. A few isolated showers or storms may form along the front across the eastern sections of South Central Texas but significant rainfall is not expected. Cooler and drier air will move into the area on Saturday along with north winds and breezy conditions. Cooler temperatures in the 50s and 60s will prevail over the weekend with some possible brief freezing temperatures early Sunday morning.
