LITTLETON, CO — Planning is underway to improve Littleton's Santa Fe Drive and Mineral Avenue intersection, which will receive a new quadrant roadway, the city said. The quadrant will allow officials to remove left-turns from the intersection by rerouting vehicles onto the new road, city officials said. A final design for the new road is set to be presented to the community in the New Year, and construction is scheduled to begin in 2023. This project will also include new traffic signals, traffic signal re-timing, lane configurations and mobility improvements in the area, officials said. The intersection is one of the most congested areas in Littleton — around 90,000 vehicles go through the area each day and cause delays of up to 20 minutes during rush hour, the city said. The city aims to reduce the delays and improve safety for drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists. The Santa Fe Drive and Mineral Avenue intersection improvements, and quadrant road, are set to be completed in late 2024, the city said.
