Press release from the City and County of Broomfield: December 10, 2021 The FDA and CDC have approved COVID-19 Pfizer boosters for 16-17 year olds! This means you should get a COVID-19 booster if: You are 16-17 and received your second dose of Pfizer at least six months ago You are 18+ and received your second dose of Pfizer or Moderna at least six months ago You are 18+ and received your initial dose of Johnson & Johnson at least two months ago Please note adolescents age 16-17 are only eligible for the Pfizer vaccine. All other individuals can get a different type of vaccine for their booster than their original series.  Initial data suggests COVID-19 boosters help broaden and strengthen the protection against Omicron and other variants. COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective, and experts strongly encourage all adults and adolescents ages 16 and 17 to get their boosters.  Boosters are free and easily accessible at many local locations, like pharmacies, community clinics, hospital systems, primary care providers, and more!
