HOUSTON, TX — Two people died in a plane crash near Katy Freeway on Thursday afternoon, according to the Houston Police Department. The single-engine plane crashed in a field south of the 17400 block of Katy Freeway in west Houston, according to a tweet from the Harris County Sheriff's Office. The Houston Police Department is responding to the crash near Addicks Reservoir and confirmed two people have died. The Sheriff's Office and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers also are responding. This is a developing story and will be updated. Our deputies are assisting @TxDPSSoutheast with a plane crash in the 17400 block of Katy Freeway. The crash is located in a field south of the service road.
