Press release from City of Fort Worth: December 10, 2021 Last month, demolition of the former Police and Fire Training Tower took place on Panther Island. This project makes way for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers bypass channel. The demolition took place in what will be the south section of the bypass channel. The project was necessary for the City of Fort Worth to relocate a major sanitary sewer line, making way for construction of this section of the channel. The project is expected to be completed in early 2022.
