There were about 90,800 Available Job Postings during the November 2021 monthly reporting period, a decrease of 1,700 postings compared to the previous month. There were 32,300 New (first-time) Job Postings, an increase of 900 postings when compared to the previous month. New (first-time) Job Postings in November 2021 represented 36 percent of all Available Job Postings. 15 percent or 13,200 of all Available Job Postings during the November 2021 reporting period fell under the Management Occupations. 14 percent or 12,900 fell under Computer and Mathematical Occupations, showing strong demand for experienced or senior talent and tech talent in our region. There are currently about 1,900 postings indicating vaccination requirements or mentions, a substantial increase of 1,200 more postings when compared to the previous month. This could also be attributed to the federal vaccine mandate. The number of job postings that offered "signing bonuses" is at 6,800, a slight increase of 100 more postings when compared to the previous month. The current top occupations that are offering signing bonuses are Registered Nurses, Software Developers and Software Quality Assurance Analysts and Testers, Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers, Sales Representatives, and Retail Sales Associates. 37 percent or 33,700 of all Available Job Postings pay an annual median wage between $30,000 to $65,000. Of these, 59 percent or 19,900 will require a high school diploma as the entry-level education, and 15 percent or 4,900 will require a bachelor's degree. There are 750 internship positions posted by about 300 companies. There are about 3,900 Available Job Postings that specifically offer "work from home" opportunities, 400 more than the previous month. The top three occupations that offer "work from home" opportunities are Software Developers and Software Quality Assurance Analysts and Testers, Customer Service Representatives, and Sales Representatives. According to the Texas Workforce Commission, the Austin MSA reported an unemployment rate of 3.4% or 44,600 unemployed in October 2021. More jobs ahead. In November 2021, the Austin metro region saw a total of about 2,800 jobs announced through new relocation or expansion plans, bringing the total number for 2021 to approximately 23,000 job announcements. Coltzin (Austin, TX), Lakeba (Sydney, Australia), Samsung Austin Semiconductor (Seoul, South Korea), Technical Adhesives (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada), Touchdown PR (Basingstoke, England, United Kingdom), and Wise (New York, NY) are the companies that have announced new location plans, creating about 2,210 new jobs in Austin.
