Here are the top stories in New Orleans today: 60 mph winds, just shy of a tornado, ripped through Metairie homes on Thursday, damaging at least three houses. (FOX 8 Live WVUE) A Marrero man was sentenced to life plus 75 years for killing an armed robbery victim, covering up evidence and plotting to kill his girlfriend. (NOLA.com) Omicron cases are increasing in Louisiana, and mostly in New Orleans. The case number doubled from Wenesday to Thrusday this week, with about 30 probable cases. (WAFB) An 18-year-old boy was arrested in New Orleans for deadly Baton Rouge shooting and is facing a 2nd degree murder charge.
