PASADENA, CA — Colorado Boulevard restaurants have until Tuesday to remove their outdoor dining amenities as Pasadena ramps-up preparation for the Rose Parade. City officials said the removal is necessary to make room for parade staging. The traffic barriers used by restaurants on Colorado Boulevard will be removed so that the street can return to normal operations, according to city spokeswoman Lisa Derderian. City workers will then restripe parking stalls, perform routine street maintenance and "proceed with other regularly scheduled parade preparation work," Derderian said. The barriers should return by Jan. 6, she added. Restaurants along the Rose Parade's route will also have outdoor dining suspended until Jan. 2. The suspension will begin Dec. 31 at 9 a.m. and also applies to restaurants within one block of the route, Derderian said.
