Mail, Possibly Donations, Stolen From Pet Shelter In Naperville

NAPERVILLE, IL — Thieves "ripped apart" a locked mailbox and stole pieces of mail that may have included donations at ADOPT Pet Shelter in Naperville, Chicago Tribune reports. The incident took place around 12:45 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Industrial Drive. Surveillance footage from that time shows two people in hooded sweatshirts destroying the mailbox and taking out several envelopes. They then fled in a "small white car," according to Chicago Tribune. ADOPT Pet Shelter had recently mailed requests for donations to its holiday campaign and anticipates the stolen stack of mail could have contained thousands of dollars in donations, in addition to donors' personal information.
