WOODBURY, MN — Four Woodbury schools were added Thursday to the Minnesota Department of Health's list of facilities with recent coronavirus outbreaks, taking the city's total to 14. Three elementary schools — Red Rock, Woodbury and Brookview — and Woodbury Middle School were named on the most recent list released Thursday. Winter Storm Warning Issued For Friday In Washington County The COVID-19 data dashboard for South Washington County Schools shows there have been 1,078 total coronavirus cases this academic year across the district's schools, as of Dec. 2. More than 250 new cases were reported over the previous two weeks, according to the district's dashboard. Elementary schools in the district are operating with increased health and safety procedures after a spike in cases among staff and students in November. Families To Celebrate Hmong New Year At Woodbury High The new health and safety measures require elementary students to eat meals in their classrooms, limit their movement throughout schools and enjoy recess separately from other classes, officials said. South Washington County elementary schools also restructured student arrival and dismissal procedures and are conducting more targeted cleaning. The increased health and safety measures are due to continue at least until winter break. The Minnesota Department of Health's most recent list of facilities with coronavirus outbreaks included 48 Washington County schools, 11 more than the previous week. More than 1,000 schools statewide were named on Thursday's list.
