Press release from the City of Glendora: 12/08/2021 2:12 PM IMPORTANT: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information NOTICE: 4-Day Full Intersection Closure: FOOTHILL BLVD & GRAND AVE INTERSECTION  DECEMBER 20 - 24, 2021 DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL NOTICE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY As a part of the 9.1-mile Foothill Gold Line light rail project, KPJV crews will be working at the intersection of Foothill Blvd. and Grand Ave. to remove and relocate the existing freight track to its new position and repave the road. This work is required to make room for the new Gold Line bridge that will be under construction soon. This work requires a full closure of the intersection at Foothill Blvd. and Grand Ave. for 4 days. Hospital access will be maintained from the intersection of Route 66 and Grand Ave., south of the closure. NOTE: Crews will be returning to the Foothill Blvd. & Grand Ave. intersection to finalize the crossing in 2022. WHEN Beginning at 5:00 AM on Monday, December 20 and continuing thru 5:00 AM on Friday, December 24, 2021 (4 days total), the intersection at Foothill Blvd. and Grand Ave. will be fully closed to all traffic 24 hours a day. • Work hours: In order to limit the closure to 4 days, work will be performed 24 hours a day. TRAFFIC ADVISORIES • Full closure of the intersection at Foothill Blvd. and Grand Ave. to all traffic 24-hours a day for 4 consecutive days (Dec. 20 - 24). Use detour routes. • Access to businesses, residential areas and Emanate Health Foothill Presbyterian Hospital will be maintained at all times, including: Orangepath St., Leeside St., Ada Ave., Carroll Ave., Lochleven St., Herber St., and Meda Ave. PLAN YOUR ROUTE AND BE PREPARED • A detour route (see map below) will be in place during the 4-day full closure and signage will be posted to direct motorists, trucks and pedestrians. Please follow detour signs. • Route 66 and Bennett Ave. (eastbound and westbound) will remain open and serve as detour routes, see details below. • Barranca Ave., Glendora Ave., and Vermont Ave. (northbound and southbound) will remain open and serve as detour routes. NOTE TO RESIDENTS / BUSINESS OWNERS • Noise from construction equipment will be produced near the active work zones.
