Press release from City of Fremont:
December 10, 2021
The City is pleased to announce this new leadership opportunity for Fremont students who care about the environment and want to be prepared for disaster, save money and resources, and create a healthier and brighter future for Fremont. Through the City's Fremont Green Challenge, Fremont's new Climate Solutions Ambassador Program is for students ages 16+ who care about climate change and want to act but don't know where to start. Students will form teams and be provided with the tools and training they need to learn more about climate change and work together to reduce emissions, save water and money, and make Fremont more resilient. This program is open to all Fremont residents ages 16 to 22. Those who participate will have the opportunity to gain meaningful leadership and volunteering experience that will look great on college and job applications. The program will only require about one hour of time per week from January through June.
For more information and to sign up, students can visit the Climate Solutions Ambassador webpage. Students who want to learn more about the program before signing up can attend a 30-minute virtual information session in January. Several dates are available. Students can sign up on this Eventbrite webpage.
The Climate Solutions Ambassador Program is part of the Fremont Green Challenge, a City platform with the goal of empowering residents to take action together to reduce emissions and help meet the City's climate action goals. Community Climate Solutions is the City's partner for the Fremont Green Challenge and will be facilitating the program.
