Happy Friday, Toledo! These are the most important things going on today in town. First, today's weather: A touch of afternoon rain. High: 50 Low: 49. Here are the top stories in Toledo today: 12-year-old Jayliana Burrus has been reported missing from the 900 block of Woodruff Ave. and was last seen in Central Toledo on Wednesday afternoon. Toledo Police are investigating. There is a report the child left home without permission after she was upset she could not go to a friend's house. (13abc Action News) Lucas County expects to receive $3 million from the Ohio Builds funds to update aging infrastructure and the sewer system. Ohio's 88 counties will all receive funds and there is a special emphasis on ensuring access to clean drinking water. (13abc Action News)Tuesday saw two separate incidents of teenagers arrested for threats made to local schools. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office took a 13-year-old to the Monroe County Youth Center for making a threat toward Airport Community Schools via Snapchat. Lucas County Sheriff's Deputies took a Springfield Local Schools student into custody who was also accused of making threats. (WNWO NBC 24) A Central Toledo home in the 1700 block of Wellesley Drive caught fire early Thursday morning and has been declared a total loss. Toledo Fire & Rescue Crews arrived on scene and the family living in the home was able to make it outside safely, as was their dog. (WTOL) Several local parents are upset at what they view as a lack of transparency from Toledo Public Schools after Bowsher High School went on lockdown Wednesday due to threats of violence. Toledo Police searched the school room by room and recovered no weapons. A similar incident caused Bowsher to go on lockdown on September 28, 2021.
