Description
Hello!I'm looking for someone to adopt my father's 3-year old Saint Bernard, Duke. Duke is a pure bred and was adopted by my father as a means of keeping him company since he was living alone. Unfortunately, since adopting duke, my father was diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately passed away recently. I've been doing my best to take care of Duke since, but am just unable to keep up with his needs and would highly prefer him being adopted by a family looking to give him all of the love and attention he deserves.Duke is fantastic with children and has always had a blast playing and protecting my niece. He is okay around other dogs and doesn't try to attack for fight them, just play with them, but he WILL go after small pets and animals such as cats, rabbits, ferrets, etc. So, if you have cats or any other small pets, Duke may not be the best fit for your household. He is also very much an inside dog, but also needs a decent sized back yard to run around and play in. He is also fantastic when taking on walks, just make sure you hold onto his leash tight as he can get very excited when seeing new people and other dogs. He typically will not bark at them, just get very energetic. He is also well house-trained and will let you know when he needs to go out, does not scratch/chew furniture, but he does like to sit and snuggle with people on couches and beds.I'm asking for a $250 re-homing fee as well with Duke to ensure that he goes to a good home that can take care of him and not someone that may mistreat him. Also, since he is a pure bred he has not been neutered as pure bred St. Bernard's are allowed to be adopted without having them neutered. I believe he has been chipped, but I am unsure when he last had his shots. I'm fairly certain he had gotten some during a checkup in June 2020, but besides that, I am unsure. If interested, please contact me by replying to this via message/email. I really want him to go to a family household or to a couple that is able to give him plenty of love and attention as he does get very lonely when no one is home to be with him. If you feel Duke would be a good fit for your home and family, then I look forward to hearing from you! Please note: All interested adopters will be interviewed prior to scheduling any meets or pick-up to ensure Duke will be going to a good home.
