Press release from the City of Albany: 12/08/2021 5:00 PM The following provides a summary of actions taken by the City Council as part of the special and regular meetings on December 6, 2021:  Closed Session - There was no reportable action. 2021 Parks, Recreation & Open Space Master Plan - The Council received the presentation of the Parks, Recreation & open Space Master Plan and provided comments. Staff will return to Council after incorporating Council's comments to the Plan. Sponsorship of the Winter Solano Stroll: The Council authorized a $2000 contribution to the Winter Stroll using the funds from the American Rescue Plan Act . This event helps encourage people to return to our business districts. Albany Green Building Requirement: The Council adopted Resolution No. 2021-118, updating the green building  requirements to include a 6.7% compliance margin requirement for new mid-rise and high-rise mixed-fuel buildings and removing the multifamily outdoor lighting requirement. Community Task Force on Policing Extension Request:  The Council  approved an extension of the Community Task Force on Policing for additional 3 meetings with the last meeting to be held by March 31, 2022. Safe Storage of Firearms: The Council gave direction to staff to draft an ordinance and return to Council, requiring firearms located within a residence or vehicle be stored in a locked container or disabled with a trigger lock.   Next Regular City Council Virtual Meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 20, 2021 at 7:00 PM.  View City Council meetings (KALB video Link).     This press release was produced by the City of Albany.
