Direct care staff assists clients with eating, light housekeeping and dispensing medications. They help clients achieve the activities of daily living, such as maintaining good hygiene and dressing themselves or assist with more complicated instrumental activities of daily living such as shopping, cooking and doing laundry. Direct care staff may assist their clients in managing their health care, obtaining and using transportation, and managing their finances. Direct care staff will provide clients with recreational and social opportunities. Direct care staff are responsible for all documentation regarding medication, daily living skills, cares, and goal implementation. Direct care staff must ensure that they have completed all training offered to them. Applicants must have and maintain a valid driver's license. This position is for 2 Sleep Shifts: Sunday night 10:00pm-8:00am (You sleep from 10-6, pay while sleeping is $8.00/hr, all wake time is paid regular wage), and Fridays 2:45pm-7am Saturday (Sleep 10-6, wake hours 2:45pm-10pm and 6-7am). Also, you will be required to do three 5 hour 1 on 1 activities in the community per week. This will consist of taking 1 client at a time out in the community to do activities such as going to the zoo, shopping, hiking, picnics, bowling, out to eat, dances, movies, etc. All expenses for activities are covered by us!
