Check out our projects: vanportindustrial.com/projects HIGHLIGHTS • Weekly Pay • Overtime and Paid Holidays • Monday – Friday Day Shift FIREWATCH SUMMARY Fire watch personnel maintain surveillance of areas where hot work — welding or cutting with torches — has occurred. Welding and cutting both cause sparks and bits of molten metal to fly into the surrounding area. The fire watch maintains a lookout for small fires started by these sparks and bits of slag. Should a fire begin to develop or occur, they execute their primary duty of sounding the alarm and, if possible, attempt to control the fire. Additionally provides general labor for setting up operations in a space, good housekeeping and returning company tools at end of shift. • Ensures that work area is clean and free of combustible materials before hot work begins • Maintains clean and safe work area • Perform Site cleanup at end of shift and end of task • Able to lift and move material up to 50 pounds QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS • Must be willing and able to work overtime • Must have or be willing to obtain Fire Watch and Respirator Fit certifications (Company to provide as needed) • As a federal contractor, COVID vaccination required for all employees. COMPENSATION PACKAGE • Base wage $18 - $20 per hour DOE. • Group Ins. benefits after 60 days: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD. • 401K with matching contributions and profit sharing. • Paid holidays, vacation & sick days
