An evening of celebration and inspiration, benefiting kids and teens in Oregon suffering hair loss due to medical illness. Featuring Celebrity Dancers Blake Backlund, Amy Newport, Matt Hogan and Heather Campion. Angel Hair Foundation is pleased to host the 12th Annual Shall We Dance fundraising event. Bringing together over 400 prominent leaders from our community, the evening will, once again, be one of celebration and inspiration. Styled after the popular television series, Dancing with the Stars, the Shall We Dance benefit features some of Eugene's incredible community leaders from business to athletics to philanthropy.  To learn more about the mission of Angel Hair Foundation and Shall We Dance visit Angel Hair Foundation.  Angel Hair Foundation is a private, non-profit corporation that reaches out to kids and teens in Oregon who have lost their hair due to medical illness (cancer or alopecia). The foundation provides the funding needed to purchase an "Angel Hair System." This superior-quality, medical prosthesis provides kids with confidence and self-esteem and allows them to swim, sleep and play without fear of the prosthesis falling off or slipping. Staci Wright and her mother, Debbie, started Angel Hair Foundation in 2007 after Staci was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a type of bone cancer, and began 10 months of chemotherapy and five weeks of radiation therapy. Feeling depressed about the loss of her hair, Staci's parents researched and purchased a prosthetic hair system that immediately make her feel more confident. During her time at the hospital, Staci met other kids struggling with hair loss and decided she wanted to do something to help. To date, the foundation has provided more than 300 children in Oregon with their own hair system, at no cost. Angel Hair Foundation is served by an Executive Director and volunteer Board of Directors.
