Delaware's 29th Annual MLK Day Celebration
Monday, January 17, 2022
Doors open at 10 a.m - Motown Party
Program starts promptly at 11 a.m.
Your ticket helps us to fund the Delaware County MLK Scholarship Program. Since 1990, we have awarded over $34,000 in scholarships to Delaware County area students.
This year the program will examine “Why We Can’t Wait” in our journey towards justice. As a part of this exploration we will engage in a Ted Talk style of presentations. This means we will be discussing how Diane Nash and Bayard Rustin worked with Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the Civil Rights Movement. Dr. Nicole Jackson from Bowling Green State University, Tameka Vinson-Reid from the Delaware African American Heritage Association, and Dr. Charles Montgomery Teaching Pastor at Vineyard Columbus will be highlighting each of our civil rights leaders.
