The Pasadena Chorale and Orchestra presents a joyous concert of music for the season. GEORGE FRIDERICH HANDEL Messiah (selections) MARGARET BONDS The Ballad of the Brown King Black American composer Margaret Bonds studied at Juilliard and collaborated with poet Langston Hughes to create The Ballad of the Brown King in 1951. In 1960 she orchestrated the work, dedicated it to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and conducted the premiere performance on a CBS live broadcast with the Westminster Choir. For the safety of our patrons, performers and staff:1. All patrons must wear a mask at all times while indoors2. All patrons over 12 years of age must show proof of full vaccination3. Attendance is capped at 50% of capacity to allow plenty of space for social distance The Pasadena Chorale is an auditioned community chorus in Pasadena, CA.
