Marleena Barber's Cabaret, "Thank You for the Music!" will benefit Segerstrom Center's Studio D., Arts School for All Abilities
The Sound of Music Chapter of The Guilds of Segerstrom Center for the Arts is proud to support our beloved Studio D. with a benefit performance by one of our own!
“Thank You for the Music” is the acclaimed one-woman cabaret show of Marleena Barber, Sound of Music member and VSA Orange County Director. VSA is the County Organization on Arts and Disability. This poignant story underscores the vital role that music played in Marleena’s journey to believing in herself as she grew up legally blind from a genetic condition called albinism.
Dedicated to promoting positive disability awareness through education and performance, Marleena is graciously sharing her art in support of Studio D. which creates a space for students of all abilities to explore their full physical, social, and creative potential through high quality, joyful arts instruction.
Marleena's inspirational show has been celebrated from coast-to-coast and was featured at the 2010 International VSA Festival produced by the Kennedy Center. Marleena will be accompanied by Edward Sywulka on the piano.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a wine and light bites welcome reception. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. with an introduction to the Sound of Music Chapter and Studio D.
Seating is limited for this wonderfully uplifting performance—make sure to sign up today!
