Join local calligrapher Jesilyn Kay in this beginner’s modern calligraphy class. We look forward to having you all back in the studio for some socially distant crafting! Whether you’re interested in learning calligraphy to send out your own stationery cards or just want to learn a fun new skill, it’s always important and way easier to start with the right tools and instructions. In this Intro to Modern Calligraphy Class, Jesilyn will be teaching you the art of traditional modern calligraphy- yes we’ll be dipping our calligraphy pens into ink the old school way! Jesilyn provides all your professional supplies (that you get to keep!) and will teach you all the important skills to begin your own beautiful calligraphy. She’ll be discussing everything from the tools, how to hold your pen properly, how to create letters, plus different techniques to make you more successful. Jesilyn has been teaching calligraphy for over 3 years and loves helping her students get started on their calligraphy journey. COVID note:We are opening 6 seats in this class, and all guests plus the teacher will be seated around a 10 foot x 5 foot table. Sometimes in an art class, you may need to get close to the teacher to see what she's doing or get guidance. To protect our teachers and guests, vaccination (unless medically exempt) and masks are required. Looking for a private event? We can schedule a private calligraphy workshop for groups from 4 to 12 people. Be in touch! CRAFT is like an all-you-can-make buffet of art supplies for grown-ups. The idea is to be everyone's craft room, so you can walk in any time during our open hours, and craft using our supplies for $10 per hour.
