What is a Conversation Party? A conversation party is an event where people connect through active dialogue. This is a safe space where we can share ourselves in a fun and welcoming environment, free from any drama and judgment. Each party has a main theme which breaks down into sub-topics. Sub-topics and opinions vary depending on the person, so this is NOT the place to be thin-skinned. 1. Be respectful of everyone, including their opinions. 2. Give your attention when people are sharing their thoughts. 3. Each sub-topic will have a 5 minute limit. Be mindful of the time and give others the opportunity to speak once you have expressed your thought. 4. The group can collectively vote to extend the time of the topic for a maximum of 5 additional minutes. Dassit. 5. Respect what's shared at the conversation party. Since the topics are anonymous, the person who wrote it may reveal themselves to clarify their message. 6. We encourage you to limit your phones use, so you can actively engage in the discussion. 7. Drama and negativity is not welcomed in this space. You will be asked to remove yourself if an unreasonable conflict occurs. 8. HAVE FUN, ENGAGE, SHARE, CONVERSE, LEARN SOMETHING NEW. FAQs What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event. Street Parking is available all around the park. Pay through the pay by phone app. How late can I show up to the conversation party? We encourage everyone to be on time so you can be a part of the development of conversation. However, we understand everyone has their own schedule. The latest we would recommend you coming is 8:00pm. Will there be food and drinks? YES, but it will be picnic style and everyone is bringing their own snack or meal to eat and share if you like. There are also plenty restaurants and bars in the area. This park is right near the Las Olas strip.
