The Inaugural Layers of Black History Gala will be focused on this years national theme of "Health and Wellness". Hello All, For those who don't know me, my name is Corey Dupree (Hi!). I have always had a passion for education, building communities, and providing realistic and equitable solutions to problems. You have to be able to walk the walk, not just talk the talk. A good friend of mine said to me once: "Think Bigger". So I reached out to some folx with a crazy idea of mine. This year, I have partnered with several of my AMAZING childhood friends and family members (Tiffanni, Johnna, and Vahsaun: Y'all rock!) to put together an event that will feature: Live Music, Poetry Performances, and a DJCatered BuffetOpen Bar (from 6:30-7:30) and Cash Bar (from 7:30-9:00)Photo BoothEducational PanelistsRaffle PrizesAnd Much More!!!This event will help fund several initiatives which include: Two scholarships for high school students (as I attended both the Milton Hershey School and Cambridge Rindge and Latin), diverse books to be donated to PASD school district (where both of my children attend elementary school), and a donation to a randomly selected non profit which will be selected that evening! While the minimum suggested donation is $50 per person, the Layers of Black History Gala will be strictly "Pay what you can". Please note that this event is for guests 21+ and is limited to the first 80 attendees. Can't wait to celebrate with y'all! *Not able to attend but still want to be a part of the fun?
