GARDEN CITY, NY — The Garden City Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending Dec. 7. Dec. 1 Garden City detectives arrested a 42-year-old man for tying a dog to a pole in Meadow Street field and abandoning it without providing food or water. The incident occurred on Nov. 21. He was charged with abandonment of an animal.Graffiti was found on two statues on the grounds of St. Joseph's Church.A Brooklyn company was charged with the operation of a truck on Clinton Road while 22,000 pounds overweight.Officers investigated a report of a vehicle leaving the scene after colliding into another vehicle on Washington Avenue.
