Description
Hello! We are a group of late 20's early 30's guys starting a jam band. The idea is sort of a "Jam Band Cover Band." There's a million Top 40 Cover Bands, but no one playing the tunes for us jam folks. The idea is to cover stuff like:
- Grateful Dead
- Phish
- Umphrey's McGee
- String Cheese Incident
- Allman Brothers
- Plus others like Floyd, Widespread, Talking Heads, MMW, Pigeons, Goose, Vulfpeck... that type of thing. Anything that could be funky/groove/jam band music.
We have guitars, bass, and some vocals covered. Looking for a drummer and keyboardist to finish things out. It's not easy music, so we're looking for serious musicians, preferably with Jazz or Jam Band experience. Singing is always a big plus (even just for harmonies), but not necessary.
We are not looking to play once a week in a garage. Once we get the right crew we will start gigging and only rehearse as needed. I was a full time musician for almost 10 years, and will lead efficient/productive rehearsals. I studied jazz guitar at Indiana University and led multiple jam/pop/rock/jazz bands. You can see some of my playing at https://www.marshallrobbins.com/music
Hit me up if you are interested! Please send a link of some sort to some of your playing, otherwise I won't be able to tell if you are skilled and serious. Thanks
