DARIEN, IL — Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:
Retail theft
Jose Naranjo Lopez, 49, of Westmont, was cited about 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. He was seen bagging items that were not scanned in the self-checkout aisle. He was released and given a date to appear in court. Converters stolen
Two men removed catalytic converters from cars between 3:15 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Saturday in a parking lot in the 1100 block of 75th Street. The losses were estimated at $2,400. Porch piracy
A package was stolen between 8 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Nov. 27 from the front of a house in the 7000 block of Clarendon Hills Road. The loss was $11. Fraud
A resident in the 7500 block of Farmingdale Drive informed police Nov. 29 that a suspect failed to pay for an online purchase. The loss was estimated at $750. Driving violations
Willie Cole, 24, of Westmont, was cited about 10 p.m. Saturday in the 7200 block of Cass Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. He was clocked going 62 mph in a 40 mph zone. He was released and given a date to appear in court. Jerron Wilbut, 27, of Willowbrook, was cited Dec. 2 on Cass Avenue on charges of no valid driver's license, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, no front license plate and failure to signal when required. He was released and given a date to appear in court. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and people charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
