Woman Dies After Worcester Collision Along Grove Street

WORCESTER, MA — A 48-year-old woman from Worcester died Wednesday after a head-on collision along Grove Street, according to police. The collision happened around 1:15 p.m. near Grove Heights Drive. The woman was driving a Jeep Wrangler southbound when she collided with an SUV driven by a Rutland man. Police said witnesses reported the woman "driving erratically" in the moments before the incident. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital following the collision, which is where she was pronounced dead. The Rutland driver was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. His passenger, a 28-year-old woman from Rutland, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. This was the second fatal crash in Worcester in recent weeks. A 64-year-old man died in a head-on collision last week along June Street.
